Carley is a New Jersey native who found yoga while playing for the University of Southern California's inaugural division 1 lacrosse program. Carley would describe her student athlete lifestyle as a very masculine one. While Carley loved the powerful elements of this tough and sweaty lifestyle, she needed a Yin to her lacrosse Yang. Yoga and dance studios become her outlet to unwind, gain perspective, express herself creatively, and practice mobility, flexibility and strength in different ways. After healing a herniated disc her senior year of college, Carley decided to complete her 200 hour teacher training with Core Power Yoga in Studio City. This training gave her the foundational skills to cue group fitness classes in a fun and effective way, continue to heal her back and help her let go of her athlete identity.
Today, Carley works clinically and privately as a Registered Dietitian with specialties in sports nutrition and eating disorders, and as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who trains athletes in the South Bay. She is really passionate about educating athletes, of all levels, how to fuel their body properly for their "sport" and how to develop a healthy relationship to food, body and fitness. Whether you are training for a marathon, have a son/daughter aspiring to be a collegiate athlete, struggling with weight or just want to avoid getting dizzy in a hot yoga class, Carley can help you make lifestyle choices that are best for your health and performance.
